App: Barbell Developer: Cezary Ciosek, ul. Jana Kazimierza 66/122, 01-248 Warsaw, Poland, VAT ID 5732815419
You can delete your Barbell account yourself at any time. Below are two ways to do it and what happens to your data.
Option 1 — in the app
- Open Barbell and sign in to your account.
- Go to Settings (the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Dashboard).
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
The account is deleted immediately; the app signs you out and clears the data stored on your device.
Option 2 — by email, if you no longer have the app
Write to support@barbell.cloud from the email address the account is registered to, with "Account deletion" in the subject line. We process such requests within 30 days.
If you write from a different address, we will ask you to confirm your identity — without it we will not delete the account, so that nobody can erase someone else's data.
What gets deleted
Together with the account we delete or permanently anonymise all data that identifies you:
- account data — email address, username, password, Google sign-in identifiers;
- profile data — first and last name, gender, date of birth, profile photo;
- training data — exercise results, WOD results, notes and training dates;
- health data stored in Barbell — body weight, height, body measurements, body fat percentage, sleep and hydration entries;
- device data — device identifier and push notification token.
Anonymisation means identifying fields are replaced with random values, so the remaining data can no longer be linked to you.
What is kept, and for how long
- Server logs (IP address, technical request data) — at most 90 days, then deleted.
- Subscription billing records — 5 years, as required by tax law. We keep only what the law requires; these contain no training or health data.
- Database backups — kept for at most 30 days, then deleted. This means deleted data disappears from backups no later than 30 days after the account is deleted.
Health Connect data
Barbell reads data from Health Connect and writes sleep, hydration, weight and height to it. Deleting your Barbell account does not delete anything in Health Connect — that data is yours and stays on your device. Manage it in the Health Connect app under App permissions → Barbell, where you can revoke access or delete stored entries.
Barbell Pro subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription — that is managed by Google Play. To end it, go to Google Play → Subscriptions → Barbell → Cancel subscription. Do this before deleting the account, otherwise you will keep being charged.
